The Consumer Electronics Show, in particular, has a way of reminding some of us of how annoying carrying around USB cables can be. We need them to charge and sync our mobile devices ... but they somehow inevitably turn into a tangled mess. Well, no more of that.

The Charge Card looks like cut-up credit card???albeit?it?is?a?bit?thicker,?measuring?in?at?0.1?inches???and?it?can?easily?be?slipped?into?your?wallet?or?a?teeny-tiny?pocket.?It?has?a?fold?out?"tongue"?which?ends?with?a?USB?plug?and?a?tip?which?is?either?a?microUSB?or?iPhone?connector.?(There?are?old-school?iPhone?connectors?as?well?as?a?Lightning?version?for?the?iPhone?5,?though?that?one's?not?going?to?be?available?for?a?few?months.)

BlackBerry users suffer connection problems in Europe, South Africa

Users of Research in Motion Ltd.?s BlackBerry smartphones were not receiving emails Friday, according to wireless operator Vodafone Group Plc.

?We are aware that some BlackBerry customers are experiencing issues,? said Simon Gordon, a spokesman for the Newbury, U.K.-based wireless provider. ?Vodafone is working closely with Research in Motion to restore full service as soon as possible.?

Gordon said he couldn?t comment yet on the geographic extent of the issue, though at least some European countries are affected. South African customers of Vodacom Group Ltd. using the device were also affected by a connection outage, according to website mybroadband.co.za.

A RIM spokeswoman in the U.K. declined to comment immediately when reached by Bloomberg.

RIM, based in Waterloo, Ontario, plans to introduce the BlackBerry 10 on Jan. 30 to claw back market-share losses to Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics Co. The BlackBerry 10 lineup includes devices featuring a touch screen as well as models with regular keyboards.

Princeton Vice-President Mark Burstein chosen as next Lawrence University president

?

? ? ? ??After months of vetting, researching and interviewing candidates, Lawrence University?s presidential search committee announced Princeton?s Mark Burstein as the successor to outgoing President Jill Beck.

??????? Burstein currently serves as the executive vice-president of Princeton University, a position he has held since 2004, and he is also a member of the board of trustees at Vassar College. He will take office on July 1, 2013, but he will be officially introduced as Lawrence?s 16th president on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at 11:10 a.m.

??????? While the search committee had many strong candidates, trustee president Terry Franke said that Burstein fit Lawrence because of his demonstrated skills in higher education, deep respect for the liberal arts, and wide array of experiences in the private and public sectors.

??????? Franke noted that Burstein will bring ?an added dimension to Lawrence?s strategy of university operations? and said that the entire board of Trustees is very excited about the choice.

LUCC President and senior Jake Woodford, who served alongside junior Chiao-Yu Tuan as a student representative on the committee, expressed another positive sentiment, saying in a video statement that Burstein has ?the intangibles that [the committee] was looking for.?

??????? Burstein himself was both excited and optimistic about his new beginning at Lawrence University. He said that Lawrence would offer a different kind of challenge than that of his work at Princeton, but the ?high-quality campus community? was what he was most looking forward to.

??????? Already the president-elect is laying out a vision for his tenure at Lawrence. ?We?re at a moment in time where Lawrence and other liberal arts institutions need to clearly articulate the role of a liberal arts degree in life of a student and our society. That?s one part of how I see Lawrence tackling future challenges?by articulating what makes Lawrence distinctive in a more effective, more unique way.?

??????? Burstein also noted that he believes ?the best ideas for Lawrence?s future are already in the community today,? describing how he wants to engage with all of Lawrence?s constituencies to draw upon these ideas and to lead the institution forward.

??????? Burstein?s capacity for articulating a strong vision is one aspect of the president-elect?s character that the search committee said they were very impressed with. Franke said that Burstein was a choice that fit Lawrence?s long-term objectives. ?The fact that all the presidential candidates were so strong is indicative of just how much momentum and energy is felt for Lawrence broadly and nationally. The search committee?s choice of Burstein will be an exciting thing to build on in the future.?

??????? In the short-term, Lawrence?s future president said that he is very excited to engage with students face-to-face once he arrives to campus. He said that he?s committed to holding open office hours at least once a month, and plans to be present at a lot of events, including performances, intellectual gatherings and athletic events. ?I expect to even eat in the dining hall,? he noted.

? ? ? ? According to Princeton junior Sloan Rudberg, Burstein's?wholly engaged style is key to his success as a leader. Rudberg said that Burstein?intentionally extends the role of a university to impact the lives of every constuent. "Princeton students are spoiled," he said, " and a lot of that is because of Mark's great work." He creates new opportunities by caring deeply about an entire campus community.?

? ? ? ? Rudberg also emphasized how much of a mentor Burstein is. "Expect him to be a great listener and to bring vision to wherever he goes," Rudberg said. "As a community, [Princeton] is definitely losing an amazing leader."?

? ? ? ? Burstein had a few ideas about what leadership should be like. He said that a President should be a ?leader through hard choices? and a strong communicator, but above all, he said, ?a president is also the number one booster of the school.?

Did 'Teen Mom 2' Jenelle Evans Delete Her Twitter After Nude Photos Leaked Online?

The troubled mother has been feuding with her former boss James Duffy for a few months, according to Radar Online, and in order to get back at the reality star he posted the nude pictures along with vulgar comments.

?Such a perfect example of a mom!" he tweeted, according to the Hollywood Gossip and he also allegedly wrote on the microblog, ?Jenelle, l didn?t have to pay you for sex, you did that free for daddy.?

The X-rated photos were old images, but Duffy apparently decided to post them to hurt Evans and her new husband, Courtland Rogers.

Evans eventually took to Twitter on Wednesday to respond to the Twitter tirade Duffy had unleashed on her:

?no it?s getting kinda old ? I mean that?s all the ammo he?s got?! it?s hurts my loved ones.. That?s what hurts.?

When other Twitter trolls began to share the risqu? pictures and repost them to the Twitterverse, Evans pleaded with her followers to report the users who were sharing the intimate images of her body.

?She?s posting my nude pics I?m very upset,? she said, ?wtf why can?t anyone leave me alone.?

Unfortunately for Evans the drama doesn?t end there. She had to go to court in Bolivia, N.C., to take care of a cyber-stalking charge filed?by her ex-boyfriend Gary Head.

According to the Daily Mail, Evans?arrived at the courts with her 26-year-old husband, whom she married last month, wearing a black fur-trimmed puff jacket, jeans and grey boots. The two were affectionate, kissing on the lips each other on the lips, before heading inside of the courthouse.

Despite getting involved in such drama and having nude photos of her spread throughout the Internet because of Twitter, Jenelle Evans still has her Twitter account and is trying to get past the ordeal by posting whatever thought comes into her head.

Sony hopes to turn on PlayStation web shop in US this month

Image

Sony is way beyond fashionably late to the console web store party in the US next to the likes of Microsoft, but it told CNET here at CES 2013 that it hopes to officially bring its Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) store stateside this month. Though we already spotted the service recently (which allows you to order movie, TV and video content and set it to download automatically to your PS3), it was still in beta at that point and only in Europe. Residents there can place orders, with items appearing on Vita or PS3 download lists, but until the official launch happens, nothing will download for now -- at least not without some hacking, from what we saw before. It's not clear whether it'll launch stateside in the same fashion or go live, fully functional, on both sides of the pond at the same time. If Sony's words ring true, though, we shouldn't have to wait long to find out.
